GHOST DANCE NATIVE AMERICAN MASSACRE SITES
I did a photographic project on Native American Massacre Sites in Colorado. I found objects and flora on the sites. I used those items to make some of the photographs in the project.
This is a very old railroad spike I found on the Eastern Plains (near the Battle of Beecher Island) - I split the spike, added a billet of 1095 (for the edge) and forge welded it all together. The handle will be from some stabilized Cottonwood (Plains Cottonwood Tree) I found on the site as well.
The photographs are wet collodion negatives and I'm printing them as Oil Prints and Collodion Aristotypes. I'll put the knife with the site where the objects were found (put the knife and the photograph together as one piece). It should be interesting when it's finished!
